  • Why does he stay???

i saw the villain loosen up his range if he gets closer to the button! so i descided to cal his minraise and see a flop. when is saw the flop and noticed he hit only half or even missed. so i descided to call his bet and i get 2p on the turn i idescided to shove to let him pay! he does and suck out! do these people even know what odds and wetboards are??? what did i did wrong here!

Hi 77wopke77! I would have folded this one preflop. J5s is an underdog even a random hand, let alone anything better. Calling a std raise when I'm behind is something that I don't want to do, as it gives my chips away. On the flop, since the opp made a std raise preflop, then leads the flop, even if I did call preflop, I'm mucking here, as 2nd pair will most likely be the worse hand. When the opp calls the flop raise and the third diamond comes out, a low two pair is most likely not going to be the best hand here, as the opp will most likely have a flush, higher two pair, or a set. The value lead bet will most likely be a better hand, so I would muck to it here too. Without a diamond, I have no idea why the opp would call any of the raises after the flop.... maybe they won't ever fold an ace? Since J5s is a hand that is going to be behind ATC, let alone a hand that would normally make a preflop raise (if the opp has a top 20% hand, then I'm a 2-1 underdog), I'm mucking this hand from the BB preflop. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
