    Please use the hand replayer

As for the hand - the only hands that beat you here are QQ and JJ. While it's possible either one of the 3 ppl all-in has that hand, I think the broadway draws (AT, AK, KT) or one pair hands (AQ, KQ, AJ, KJ) or pocket pairs (AA, KK, TT) are also well in their range. As such, I'm taking the shot here and calling this.

Also, you're to call 976 into a pot of 5019 - that's 20%. Since the odds of flopping a set are about 16%, the odds of the flop giving them a better set are less than your 20%, giving you better than 20% odds to win the pot. So you're not getting the oproper odds to draw to the case 7 in case you're wrong, but I'm thinking were right here thinking our hand is best a lot more than we will be wrong, so I'm not throwing away my set here.

IMO this is a very easy call, especially given the fact that you jammed in a large amount of your stack on the flop. The board is very very wet so I expect you to be against combo draws overpairs naked flush draws naked straight draws and some top pairs. Once you have called to hit your set their is no going back given all the action on the flop. Fist pump and hope to hold up umbup: A very small percentage of the time you are running into an overset so I wouldnt worry about that.... thats a cooler. What was the outcome of the hand ?

        Thnx for the replies,
i made the initial call pre to strictly set mine. flop comes, HALLELUJAH!!
it actually took me a couple secs to make my action here believe it or not .
i made the rather large raise to iso the donk better, as i think he probably caught a decent piece, and would probably call w/ way worse, and if the OR had an over pair maybe he'd tag along too.
i wasn't expecting everybody to love their hand that much..
now even if i put all three on a like 5% range (which i don't) i have around 50% equity in a four way pot, so calling 1000 into 5 was kind of a no brainer.
. i figure i made ok decisions, but what about the flop raise?
        anyway here's the outcome.

mtnestegg: calls 956 and is all-in

mtnestegg: shows [7s 7d] (three of a kind, Sevens)
roshah1217: shows [Qh 2h] (a pair of Queens)
Kántor2: shows [Ac Qs] (a straight, Ten to Ace)
        Kántor2 collected 6115 from pot
petro4 finished the tournament in 7th place
mtnestegg finished the tournament in 7th place
roshah1217 finished the tournament in 7th place
        *** SUMMARY ***
        Total pot 6115 | Rake 0
Board [Qc Jd 7c Kd Ts]
Seat 1: Kántor2 (button) showed [Ac Qs] and won (6115) with a straight, Ten to Ace
Seat 2: petro4 (small blind) showed [8c Jc] and lost with a pair of Jacks
Seat 3: mtnestegg (big blind) showed [7s 7d] and lost with three of a kind, Sevens
Seat 4: ouranio folded before Flop
Seat 5: BrandyTyre folded before Flop
Seat 6: Uricano folded on the Flop
Seat 7: hav_667 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 8: roshah1217 showed [Qh 2h] and lost with a pair of Queens
Seat 9: PossumChaser folded before Flop (didn't bet)
so i was actually looking at a pair + flush draw, top/top,and a dumbazz.
would you ever just call that flop?,raise smaller?
        all thoughts appreciated..
in these 9 mans is a play like this on the first hand of the tourney gonna be +EV long term?

Hi MT! I like the call here too. Hands like this are tough, because there are so many combinations of draws that players can have, straight, flush, pairs, etc. Even if someone hits their draw, then a set has 7 outs on the turn to improve, or 10 outs on the river to improve. I wouldn't just call the first bet on the flop, as I would want to to whatever I could to price as many opps out as possible for their draws. Honesltly, I'd have probably initiallly raised to 675 (my calling the opps 100 plus the size of the pot) and be ready to call an all-in. Unfortunately, sometimes an opp will hit their draw. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

should i not have? i can't see any option other than raise that appeal to me at all.
what if this was an mtt even. what would my play be in this type situaton? any different? thnx

Hi MT! Sorry to leave you hanging! Been a little busy today!

You played the flop fine, your aim here should be to get all the chips in which is exactly what happened.

I dont reccomend flat calling the c bet as you will see too many turn cards that make you think twice about your hand. Get it in and keep them fingers crossed
