  • Was this the right move?

This hand is from online poker show freeroll, the play is down to last 3 tables. The winner gets a ticket to sunday million and 2-9 finishers get step tickets. So the objective was to make the final table. Was this the right move considering that there are 2 limpers in front of us and it would be too good odds for them to call our shove? Considering the stack sizes, was that a good call by the opp or the pot odds too good to fold in that spot?

you've got 8BB in position with a very playable hand and looking to shove/fold.

in my eyes, the 2 limpers just add more to what you can win in the pot (extra 25% of your stack). With 3 tables left and needing top 9, you're going to need chips to get it and due to that, I'm shoving this hand here every single time.

The opp that called put 56.6% into the pot, so if their equity is above this, it's a correct call for them, if not... they should muck. Against a random hand they have 61.9% equity, but you're probably not doing it with any 2 cards (although from the button, you sure could here).
Say the opp puts you on any pair, any broadway cards, any ace or any suited... they have basically 50% equity, which makes it a slight -EV call, but marginal.

Basically, you played the hand exactly correct and got unlucky. The opp made a marginal call and got lucky.
