Hi rrp{h3rtbkr}! The first thing with this hand is that I cannot call preflop... I need to raise or fold. To call a bet preflop with a pair to setmine, I need to have 15X the bet in every player's stack... and I don't have that much. If I saw the flop (which I would not), when the opp checks to me, I'm going to make a standard value bet (1/2 pot). I need to keep all of my bets standard to conceal the strength of my hand. I don't want to make abnormal bets or I'm basically turning my cards face-up to an observant opponent. On the turn, after the opp calls and an A hits, I'm absolutely going to check behind for pot control. The river is a jackpot card for me and the opp leads into me. I'm going to definitely raise here and since any bet that I make pot-commits me (makes me put 1/3 or more of my chips into the pot), I'm shoving! I don't want to make a non-standard bet here, as it will not get paid off by an observant opponent.. as the bet would not make sense. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

yes ur right ,i should not have played this hand on the first ,i made a mistake by playing and also by not raising preflop and that from late position .and what u said above i have done that exactly , betting half the pot on the flop and when a A hit he checks and i check behind and i make a mistake again on the river when i hit my set and he bet 1/3 of the pot ,its like he was baiting me and i ate that bait ,i should have shoved there ,raising him there was a big mistake aa u said i was pot committed there ..i will keep this little bit things in my mind from now on wards ,thanks buddy ,it will help me grow as a poker player.
ya it was a very nice piece of advice from u , i just wanna know would have called his river bet after making ur set or it would have make u suspicous there ,y he giving me odds there or ur decision of shoving would be the best

You did not bet 1/2 pot on the flop. 1/2 pot is 275, you bet 330 (overbet).

If I see the river there, my chips are all going in the middle 100% of the time. I'm never calling. Yes, the opp can have a better set and if so, that's why bankroll management is so important. I've got 99 buy-ins left (need to have 100 to play a level of game), so I'll just fire up the next one. Not getting the chips in on the river here is a HUGE mistake.

P.S. The opp's check/call on the flop, then checking the turn is horrible. They deserved to lose just the pot by doing this.. and got extremely lucky.

For the 45's or 90's, you want to play for top 3's. You don't want to play for min cashes.

The problem with only having 40BI in your roll is that you will see multiple, multiple streaks of 25-30 or more losses in a row.. but if you're playing for top 3's, you can still turn a nice profit longterm.

Personally, at the 45's, my worst streak is 37 in a row.. but due to the top 3's and wins (I probably have a skill edge on just about everyone I'd meet up with HU, so I expect to get more wins), I'm still running a huge ROI at them.
