    In any hand that I'm the first to open, I always want to make a standard raise. Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent.

    Preflop, raise to 300 or 360 (whichever is your standard).. NOT more nor less.

    When the opp overbet shoves for 5k, unless this opp is a total maniac fish (no read provided), this is a snap-fold. There's absolutely no reason to put this many chips at risk with a marginal hand against a realistic opponent where I'm going to lose half the time.
