  • would you play that differently?

i'd like to get some opinions on this hand: additional details to know are: villain 9 has been a loose guy calling any kind of raises with quite some luck drawing out on the river in previous hands and villain 8 actually has been playing tight, maybe a bit passive. i'm a bit stuck on how i might have played this hand. i do see one flaw, preflop i didn't raise enough, but actually i thought one of the others would fold (wth did 8 call a raise with J8...). but once that flop came i was an underdog to guy 9. now... if i had just called on the flop, i probably would have shoved on the turn, and there i was a favorite. but... maybe i would have checked and folded, that 2nd queen would have scared me, since guy 8 went all in on the flop (i've seen him back up with a low stack before). all in all i'm not really sure if i made a mistake besides the preflop raise being too small. what do you guys think?

What type of tourney is this from? If it's a cash tourney, I'm snap-shoving preflop as a standard raise is to 2.5BB+1BB for each limper and since more than 1/3 of my remaining stack would go into the pot, I'm pot-committed and cannot fold.. so I need to shove. If this is a league game, I'm making a standard raise to 700 and check/folding since the flop is this wet and I don't have the nut redraw. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

thanks john, it does help a lot.

this is from a smaller 1 table sit 'n go ($3.50 i think), not turbo.

you're right, i should have shoved, guy 8 would probably have folded and guy 9 probably not, but then it's just a bad beat, not a bad play
