  • 25NL : GOod spot to 3 Bet?

Opponent is 18/16;CO open is 32%; FT3B 67% Is a 3bet here with suited Ace an ok play versus this type of player? SB looks to be a big fish, so would a call potentially be better to reel in the SB and play a suited Ace in position post-flop? I check the turn as I'm getting uncomfortable with the size of the pot, even though my equity has improved. Should I double-barrel here for value? I wimp out on the river...

I don't know is it good to 3-bet but I do it also sometimes in Full ring with hands like A2s-A5s.
Anyway flop c-bet is okay and turn check is okay because if we bet he folds all worse hands and call us with all better ones plus we make a pot control so we can easy call his river bet. Ok he can have Qx,88,66 even better ace
but all the worst he can bluff, OFC if you have a read that hi is not bluffing so much than maybe you play good but anyway I think you make a wrong decision on the river.

      Hi carl,

I think this is a nice spot+holding to defend our button with a lite 3B when we have reason to believe the opener has his hand in the cookie jar frequently. And we certainly do here (CO open twice as high as his over all PFR, 5 handed game) plus as a normal TAG player he knows how to fold.

I agree with rudar... flop and turn play are good imo, but we should call the river bet as our turn check should induce enough bluffs to make our call profitable. And he can have hands at the river he would bluff with, like busted diamonds, and small/med pocket pairs trying to make us fold slightly better hands like TT/JJ which are no longer strong on this board.

Agreed. River call is a must.
