Weird spot with QQ any thoughts? Ads

Hmm. A flat call pre-flop for me rules out premium pocket pairs, maybe TT+. I'd have thought it unlikely he's playing things like 86, 86, 65 etc. Maybe A8s is a possibility. But once he min checkraises I'd be suspicious of a set. The min raise as well looks particularly strong. I'd probably call and reevaluate on the turn but with a min to fold if anything big comes in from him.

I'd make a standard preflop raise to 300 (3bb+1bb for each limper), instead of raising small. This way I can conceal the strength of my hand and not price in marginal hands that want to try to outdraw me. When I flop an overpair, I then want to continue with my consistent story and make another standard bet. With one opp, a standard bet is 1/2 pot, so I will bet 234.. no more, no less. The opp now min-raises. With the bet pattern that has been used, since it does not tell a consistent story (weaker than normal preflop, then stronger than normal postflop)... when people make abnormal bet sizes, this is a tell for either a monster or a bluff. The min-raise is another problem, because if I have a draw, they price it in.. so they are saying that they don't care if I'm drawing. This is most likely from a set or straight and due to this, I'm going to call (cringing that I sized my bets as a tell for my hand) and re-evaluate on the turn. If I see and overcard on the turn and the opp bets again, I need to fold. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
