When I flop top pair in a limped pot, I need to make a standard lead value bet. With 3 opps, a standard bet is 3/4 pot, so I'll bet 3975 (no more, no less). If I bet more than I should only get called by better and if I bet less, I can give the opps the correct price to outdraw me (which means I will and deserve to lose chips on average). When I get called, due to the stack sizes, I need to check the turn here for pot control. A standard 1/2 pot bet will pot-commit me and I do not want to have to shove a pair of 8's. What I cannot do is to bet then fold.. as I'm pot-committed. If the opp makes a sizable bet, then I need to shove or fold and I'll opt to fold and look for a better spot. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
