Short and simple answer... NO! The entire way the hand played out does not make sense. First, the open-limp is a very weak play and something that a better player will not do, as it's a HUGE leak. When first into a pot, I always want to make a standard raise.... either raise or fold. Then, with 88, a raise is called. If I have a pair and want to setmine (try to get a third 8), I need to have 15 times the bet in everyone's stack that is in the hand. This is clearly not the case, as I don't even have that many. Due to this, I absolutely cannot call this bet... I either need to re-raise or fold. If I raise, then I will be putting over 1/3 of my stack into the pot, which means that I'm pot-committed and cannot ever fold later in the hand, so I'd need to shove. On the flop, with 3 opps in the hand, a standard bet sizing is 3/4 pot, but since this bet pot-commits me, I have 2 choices on the flop... shove.. or check/fold. Anything in-between is not a good play. With the chip stack that the hand is started with either raise to 500 and shove over any raise preflop or the better option... since UTG, fold and look for a better spot. Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Hi amature3921, Why do you think it was a bluff? I think you had the best hand here. The only thing I don't like is your flat 200 bet at the start you are inviting too many people into the pot and your obviously not just set mining as you decide to play your 8's on the flop. What would you have done if the flop was ? Grade b
