$4.32 pot ($0.18 rake) Final Board: A 5 A J 5 Hero mucked Q Q and lost (-$2.15 net) BTN showed and won $4.14 ($1.99 net) [/spoiler] Villain 7/4 over 28 hands. Not sure if I knew the villain was that tight at the time but otherwise I would prolly fold flop. I usually except AX to be flatting here I guess, but maybe he just played it face up. At the same time I thought maybe he was bluffraising me because of the dry flop texture. Dont really have any reads, if I knew he was very aggressive I like a call but this guy seems pretty nitty so I think I shoiuld have fold.

One thing that I am not sure about is your 3bet sizing; is this standard?

I would usually make it at least 3x. In this situation I would make it around 40 cent - make the price for villain to see the flop more substantial as you are OOP and you want to try to induce some fear in him to call.

One thing that I am not sure about, is if you should either check (to induce a worse hand to bet that you could call, as you do have showdown value) or cbet flop (wanting to take it down there and then, saying because you won't really be called by worse, maybe a few flush draws - notice that the Ad is out, and so this reduces Adxd for the nut flush).

I think there could be an argument for both. It would be interesting what others think you should do on the flop.

Actually I am going to take a stab here and say, you should check flop, due the showdown value that you have.

Once he raises the flop, I do think that you should be giving up.

I definitely think this is betting for value from smaller pocket pairs and flush draws. I agree, I should make the 3b bigger.

I would check-call the flop, and check-fold to a second barrel on most turn cards. I'm not putting money in the pot on multiple streets, as villain isn't going to be bluffing often when he should realise AK is in your range.
