  • getting value

I go t a few hands where I have trouble getting value. Sure mayby there just was no value but I feel I could do things different...

Maybe just call? Raise too big?

Don't think there was much value to get here, do you? Trips A, and flushs would have called, other boats would have called or raised.

I think nothing else to do here than bet flop. Must protect hand...

    Hi rk,

Please follow the rules of the HA forum, and post 1 hand per thread.

In the 66 hand I think our action is going to deter almost all value from the holding. Preflop flat is good, but our raise sizing on the flop is huge, and it's a very dry/benign board so this looks super strong. I think both flat calling, and raising much smaller, would be superior.

Since it's hard to get continued action for a raise from non-ace hands, and since we would never be raising hands like AJ/AT here, I would go with flat calling in position and proceeding from there. We don't need to worry about getting value from AK, we'll get all we can eat later in the hand I'm sure.

If I did raise, I'd make it like 1.25 to go so as to not give Ax an easy out. The problem here is the board is so dry that a raise looks very strong, it's easy for villains to put us on A9 or 66 and just get away without putting more money in the pot.
