  • 2nl 6max Zoom- Tough One Pair Spot

Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner
hi evryone, Just wanted to get your thoughts on this hand, the villian had stats of 14/9 with an aggro factor of 2.4 over 118 hands. I decided to flat call because they open to 5x pre and that tends to be pretty strong at 2nl so i wanted to keep all those worse hands in a pretty tight range to begin with and also pot control. The problem i had in this spot was that the Stack to Pot Ratio was too large to stack off with a one pair hand but i felt like unless the villian has 88 or AA (Which is less likely now that 2 Aces are out)i think i might at least have a split,it was a tough spot. What would you do? Thanks

I don't really understand the donkbet on the flop. Your hand doesn't need protecting from draws, and you're unlikely to get called by worse on such a dry board.

I would usually 3-bet pre, but flatting might be good here in order to get the limper's money into the pot too, since he is more likely to have a weak range and to play it badly than the isolator.
As played, check-calling seems like the most natural play. When you lead out and get raised, villain isn't repping much, but he has AA, 88 and A8 in his range, which leave you drawing almost dead, so folding seems like the standard play. Villain would have to be very weird to raise any hand you beat (e.g. AQ/AJ).

Villain clearly has AA based on how things have gone for me recently. Pretty sure I had this exact hand play out earlier today with some little differences (Not exact I guess...) in that I called a 3bet OOP pre and didn't donk.

Villain is isolating the weak player with a wider range, so i would prefer to 3-bet here and not play AK 3 way and out of position. Since you decided to call, i would check call all streets, if the board runs out ok.
