played during open school league does playing aggresive on the flop here was a good idea?

IMO, this hand is played very well.

If someone comes over the top on the flop, with this being a league game, then I would have to fold (I'd call in a cash tourney).

But honestly, on a dry board like this when i have top 2 pair, what card can make me loose the leading on the turn ?
dont u think it was better to give the opp a chance to improve their hand to second best and then bet on the turn ?

This is NOT a dry board. There are multiple cards that could give a player a straight.. so I have to bet.

The ONLY way that I can slowplay is if there is not a single card in the deck that can beat me.. here, if the turn or river is a J or T, I can easily lose.

If Gus Hansen would disagree with that, it may be why he is down $19 million on Full Tilt.

What works in a high stakes cash tourney is not the same as a league game. They have totally different strategies. Comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. Playing anything other style is a losing proposition in the league games....

ill give u an example from the aussie millions tourney 2007 and u will review what u think about his play -

blinds - 25/300/150 53.2 fousen in chips . the player from first position limps. Gus limps 2 before the button with q of spades and king of diamonds, the big blind checks.
the flop comes k clubs 6 hearts and 2 of spades. both villians checks and Gus checks also.
the turn is the 2 of hearts. the big blind bets 500 and the villian in 1st position raise to 2000.
he calls and the big blind folds.
the river is the 3 of spades and the villian from 1st poistion raise again 3000. he calls .
the villian reveals A - 5 of hearts and Gus takes the pot.

that will not apply to a league game.

different tourney types have different strategies. this will not apply to a league nor a satellite.

Top 100 in the end of the month leaderboard. Individual tourney positions don't mean much. The monthly leaderboard is what matters.
