  • Q10s on the BT

Hi all I can’t decide wither my fold to the pot size bet on the tern was a mistake. I raise the BT when it’s folded to me as I have a ferly good hand. When the V 3bets I feel I still have a good hand to play in position and against this players 3bet v a steel. I hit TP with ok kicker on the flop so call the ½ pot bet. The pot bet on the tern throws me and at the time think he must be strong but now looking at the hand the 5s is a blank and I’m now thinking this could be a bluff. I only have 20 hands on this player with stats of 60/15/14.3 and AF 4.5. Thanks for all the help

You played it fine. I'm not folding a decent suited hand in position faced with a min 3-bet. Calling the flop is standard, and it's correct to fold the turn. Villain is most likely is a bad player that min-raised QQ+, so he's trying to take you to valuetown. I'm happy to give him credit for a better hand here, and being disciplined enough to fold top pair on the turn is good. Many players would lose a lot more in this spot.

I think you played it correctly although i would have played differently. Preflop was ok but i'd have folded to the 3 bet but that's me.

On the flop your in a tricky position as your top pair has middle kicker and there are straight and flush draws on the board.

This bit i disagree with you with. "the 5 is a blank". At these stakes suited one gappers, one gappers and rag aces are regularly seen as good hands so it was quite possible for a 97 suited for the straight or the 9,10 suited for the double gutshot possibly 9h10h giving both double gutshot and flush draw or even a K7 or A7 suited to be in his range.

You played it correctly but be careful when deciding on "blank" cards and don't forget all the possible holdings out there.
