  • 10NL RUSH, 54o facing XR, XR line

Pretty strange line that the villain takes here... Would you just fold to the XR OTF? Should I have bet this turn? Hi dirteh,

I open my BTNs >50% and 54o is not there in my range. I'd open 54s but not its offsuit version. I can do that because I min open which means I can open with a wider range and have to risk less. We can't be raising all our BTNs, we need to fold some hands and I think this is one of them

OTF, its unlikely villain will show with any combo of 2pair J4, J5, 54, also we block sets. Overcards are also more likely to 3bet us preflop. So we will mostly see TP + FD and on the rare occasion a made flush. The thing is villain is in the SB and in theory we expect them to 3bet or fold most often but call with medium strength hands sometimes. I think we can put them on more made flushes if they were in the BB because they get better odds to call with a wider rage of hands. So hands like 9s7s, Qs8s could be in the BB calling range but not in the SB (theoretically speaking). So no I would not fold to a x/r OTF, I might sometimes consider shoving against some opponents too. But I think it becomes more clear OTT as we can rule out bluffs or semi-bluffs with that line.
