  • 5nl zoom 2 pair vs river shove

villain unknown What does he represent? straights are not possible,I beat worse 2 pair but J6/J2 are not likely to be in his range. So is it slowplayed sets all the time?

Could be a set, could be 2pair, could be overpair, could be a bluff.
you never know with weird shoves like this.

I usually fold spots like this to kill the variance

I don't think it is sets all the time but I think we will be shown that a fair amount of the time.

I don't think we are winning often enough against spewy KJ/AJ type hands or random worse two pair.

        Hi Pray,

Given that we are at the top of our range I wouldn't fault you for calling, but it's probably a fold... certainly it's close.

The more important question though is should we be betting the turn? You have no reads, I'm not sure that our hand is worth more than 2 streets of value max, we could consider checking back the turn and calling river or betting if he checks to us again I think AT would be a clear bet, because there's more Tx hands that we beat which can give us action, with JT it's not clear to me this is a good value bet, it may be too thin.
