  • Extracting Value From Big Hands

Even though this hand is the second nut, if he had the 9 of diamonds I would have happily paid him his money. What is an optimal betting line for extracting value when flopping a monster hand? Should I have check-raised the flop? Should I have donk bet in this situation, then checked the turn instead? Or just bet - bet? Or just check - check? I did not want to chase him out of the pot. (Too bad he didn't have diamond A or K.)

This is from 2NL Zoom, and the opponent is loose passive. I was worried that he would not help build the pot.
