  • 5nl zoom QQ in 3b pot

    over 58 hands: 21/16 3b 9.1 1. Should I 4b shove? 2. Should I x/shove flop? 3. Should I not bet the river?

Tough spot. Personally I would have 4bet folded to a 5bet. BTN is squeezing and this is something that some of these aggro preflop (9.1 3bet) villain types LOVE TO DO. I think somewhere between 30-32 bbs would scare him off if he's bluffing. If he comes over the top this would give us enough room to fold.

***Note***: Villain has clicked the pot button here to make his raise, so this makes me believe that he's really not that strong. If he was 3betting for value he's more likely to think about a sizing when raising AA, KK. Raise would more likely be to 0.60 with AA, KK.

I think the issue in this hand is preflop. When you just CC OOP vs. a 3bet with QQ, the hand becomes very difficult or easy to play depending how you look at it. It puts you into a XC mode once you do this CC with QQ.

Now into your hand. The line I would take with this would be:
    OTF: XC
OTT (ACE is a horrible card): X (F if villain bets)
OTR (I don't like betting here): X (F if villain bets)

Conclusion: I actually think villain called your river bet with a hand as strong as KK or as weak as ACE rag.

    Thanks!

      Hi Pray.

      1. Should I 4b shove?
      Let's look at that progression: 3x, (call 3x), 13.4x, 131.6x
Is this what you want to do?

      2. Should I x/shove flop?
Will you get called by worse hands? Will better hands fold?

      3. Should I not bet the river?
Same questions as before. I don't see how worse hands can call us when we bet the river, and as far as better hands folding, what hands would you be targeting? I think the only realistic one is KK, but as played I seriously doubt KK will fold to our river bet. So I would check, and fold to most bets. We should be good a fair bit when it goes c/c, only losing to KK, and when he bets we'll usually be looking at AK/AA/JJ mostly.

Why does everyone want to 4bet fold strong hands, i would flat this and keep all his trash in by 4betting he plays perfectly i would only 4bet QQ here to stack off if i know villain will shove worse.

Some one was on about 4bet folding AQ in some hand vs a guy 3betting all sort of stuff from the blinds, i would just flat it IP and only 4bet it if he likes coming back over the top with alot worse or will 3bet stuff like QJs and flat a 4bet OOP.

Then i would fold QQ OOP only if i know this guy dont 3bet light.
