  • 25NL 6max - zoom AQ btn - Note review

Review on a hand from a tweet link note, was it a standard play or 3 mistakes?

    Note:
"Limp utg on mobile + over call, I raise btn AQ, flop checks, Q turn flush hits call or raise? at "Hydra" ($0.1/$0.25)"

On button AQo raising limp and over call?

    1) Is the bet size ok or too small?

Now I get two customers with the value of position. Possibly a bigger raise size gets more value from one caller when I let a 235dd flop check through.

    2) Do I c-bet AQ with no suit on a 2 flush flop 3-way?

Anyway I get lead into on a Qd turn from the over limp pre who called my raise? The utg phone now folds.

    3) Should I raise with tptk or call, now on a 3 flush board?

Couldn't fit all that in a 140 character note. I find it hard to read a hh text output, so hopefully my questions make sense when you see the hand play out.

    1) Never overcall. Standard is 3x+1bb pre limp = $1.25. Since they are fish and we are slightly deeper i'd prefer $1.35ish

    2) I think it's a fine spot to check back. It generally hits a limpers range and you'll have to start barreling (which works on regs but not fish who click call a lot).

I would usually say call here, but vs this sizing from a fish I would raise for value and protection. I don't expect UTG to fold any Kd or Ad as well as any 4x. If we had a diamond in our hand we wouldn't need to protect as much, but since we don't block the big diamonds they can have these combos.

As played, I think we should probably raise river. We basically have the nuts here. All two pairs are counterfeited, and i'd presume a fish would use bigger sizing with a stronger hand. If he has a 2, so be it, but i personally have seen fish snap TQ here vs a river raise.

I think you should raise bigger preflop, but not that much bigger. This size is fine, but a larger size might have a higher EV. I would be tempted to raise the turn, but calling is certainly +EV. Because both players limped and there are three wheel cards on the board I think we can't quite raise. If the board was raggedy like 962,Q we should raise for value. But there are probably too many sets between the two players, not to mention straights, flushes, and two pair. 2) Not necessarily. Again seeing the above, I think this flop actually hits their range pretty well. We don't have backdoor diamonds so we don't surrender much when our flop bet is raised, but we have enough good cards on the turn and not a great deal of fold equity I think we can check back as you did. 3) Never raise river, probably not to raise turn, esp with UTG behind, and probably can't fold river for this price. We have basically the top of our range and we can beat some QX hands they bet for value especially KQ and KJ. Well played in my estimation umbup:
