  • 2nl zoom deep, setmine vs. 4bet?

how u think i played dis? i though so OK , they dont 4bet here almost never in 2NL w/o AK/KK/AA so i knew im behind and calculated dat i need him to haz at least 10x the price to call , that is 36c * 10 = 3.6$ so i guess it was OK to setmine? i thought that arty said that 10-15x is rule IP to setmine and 15-20x OOP, right?

Once flop came, i smelled that dis can be valuebet especially w/ KK cuz some players might get tricky there w/ AK cuz its safe board and they will get called only by sets... so when he bets small i guess im dead,

There is no rule as such, just guidance on when it can make sense to set-mine, implied odds is one part and the general rule is 15x. This can be reduced or increased depending on how aggressively you want to set mine. The other person also has to be willing to give up their stack.

As it happens, if we give his 4bet credit here, and put him on AK+ and JJ+, then I think the fold on the flop is fine. If the flop is all undercards. I think we have to continue at least one more street and re-evaluate.

I'll admit that I haven't played 2NL for a while, but I wouldn't disagree with your assessment that the typical villain at 2NL never 4Bets light, maybe their range is even as tight as AA/KK/AK like you say, although I think most villains would sometimes 4Bet QQ/JJ as well. This also doesn't look like a fishy size, he wants your custom!

Therefore readless, if it was just heads-up with you and V6, 3Bet/folding seems like the optimal line, as you aren't really getting good enough odds to set-mine, although you are more likely than normal to get paid off if you do make your set.

However with V3 still in the hand, I think you can call profitably hoping for him to come along.

        Your flop play is great.

y dats wut i though dat villain3 will also call preflop after me , so kindof getting better than 11x odds, and as i said before, small bets looks like nuts to me, cuz they almost never bet small with TPTK , they bigbet TPTK or pot it
