  • 87s 2NL Zoom Very Deep vs UTG raise

Few things I wanted to check out on this hand. The UTG raiser was a fairly aggressive pre-flop player but not so much post-flop. Only 29 hands though. I elected to call, I have a nice playable hand, I am quite deep with UTG, and I back myself not to get carried away with marginal holdings post flop. I flop a gutter, I think I have decent odds to call flop bet and hit my hand, as it turns out I do hit my hand on the turn. What about my bet sizing on the turn? Too big? Not big enough? River, the board pairs, I didnt feel like he had a set the way the hand played out as I think I get more action on the turn when I raise, unless he displays more discipline than the player pool in general. On the river, how should I be reacting to a small raise/clickback? A big raise/shove? I should really fold to a shove. Overall thoughts in general about how I played this hand?

    Hi bhoy!

I'm not a big fan of calling in the CO with SCs like that when there are 3 opponents left to act behind us. Because we are deep, I think if we choose to play this hand I would prefer 3betting preflop. Then again at 2nl we don't expect to see alot of squeezing going and we actually don't mind playing this hand MW; so I guess I don't really hate the call

With a double belly buster or double gutshot, Id prefer raising this flop. It would be great to get a hand like AK to fold here and we win the pot with 8 high

Playing our draw passively like that would not get us to see many rivers. When we raise, villain can call and we can check back turns to see a river but if we just call and miss the turn and villain fires again we probably are going to fold. Also the best part of raising is that we can win the hand right there.
