  • 10NL 6-max Zoom JJ on River

Hi, villain is playing 19/14/9 CB=47% AF=3.3 over 378 hands. Weird river situation. But I don't think he's doing this with worse. Clear fold ? Cheers!

    Hi fp,

It's not clear to me tbh... river action seems quite polarizing, but I think there could be a number of ace high's here that feel like they don't want to check/call so are trying to take it down. 7x is the hand he seems to be repping but not too many 7's in his opening range. And it could be a weirdly played QQ+ that is nervous about all the draws. Meh, when lines make no sense and I can beat all bluffs and some thin value bets (88-TT) I generally call.

Another possibility that just occurred, which makes sense for all streets actually... 55/44. Raise pre (ok), c-bet flop (ok), check/call turn (ok, you could be floating or on a draw), and now has to bluff river with no showdown value.

Is checking back turn worth considering? Let him bluff Ax on the river?

Or is he going to call with those sorts of hands too often that we'd just miss value if we didn't bet?
