  • 16nl fr should I fold river

Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner
Villian was 26/18/0 over 95 hands 1.Should I have raised the flop. 2.Is this an easy fold on the river. My thinking was his shove looked really fishy like a busted flush draw. Not sure how to post hand without results can someone help.

      Hi tony,

      Welcome to the HA forum!

Not sure how to post hand without results can someone help.
Just delete the HH from the point you want it to stop before loading to the replayer.

Pre: Calling is fine, but I generally prefer to raise to isolate the limper, which gives us 2 ways to win. I would expect the limper to fold a lot, and call/check-fold on the flop a lot. And some of the times he doesn't go away we'll hit a 6 as well.

On the flop, this is definitely a spot I would raise. The board is coordinated and the villain limped the small blind, so he can have any of this. His lead into a 4 way pot indicates real strength, and while there are some hands we are behind (88, 97... TT probably raises pre a lot), there are a number of worse hands that will continue vs. a raise... top pair, 2 pair, pair+gutshot, J9, Q9. With the lead into 4 players it's not likely an air stab, he's got something and most of it is worse than our hand.

Turn raise is good. On the river, I would just fold tbh. This type of large overbet action from a non-crazy player (26/18 is non-crazy) screams home run value to me. Our turn raise should look very strong, like we were slow playing 97 or a set on the flop (which we do have in our range in a limped pot), and he doesn't care. A hand like QT would care, and probably check/call a lot here.

Huge river overbets are usually value, until you see differently from a player. If he wanted to bluff (even though it's a terrible spot for it given the strength your line shows), he could do so very effectively by betting $4.75 (75% of pot).

Thank you very much for the feedback. Hopefully I can find the fold button in future for river shoves.
