It is a bad beat, but, KJ UTG is a fold in FR, AJ is usually a fold never-mind KJ.

Hi flash347 Im glad you found the Cash section. For future hands please use the hand replayer. It makes it easier for everyone to follow the action. I did your hand for you Let's look at the preflop action first. From early position, KJs is too weak to play. I would recommend 1010+ and AQs+ for utg. Regardless of your cards though, you should be opening for a larger raise, especially from early position. I would recommend 3bb - 4bb from utg. Your small raise encourages players to join the pot rather than pressuring them to fold. Most players have a tight range when opening from ep. So, when the sb 3 bets into your strong range, we should give him credit for having a strong hand. Even maniacs get good hands sometimes. I would have folded to the 3b. You do have position, but your hand risks getting dominated by AJ and AK which can be costly. Now let's look at the postflop action. Getting solid reads on opponents is a huge part of the game. Im not sure what you based your read on, but it seems like you did a great job. Personally, I would have folded the flop. The villain has shown strength preflop and on the flop. You have middle pair. By continuing with the hand and raising, you are basically turning your hand into a bluff catcher. This line can work, but at 2NL I typically focus on value betting rather than semi-bluffing. Moreover, your raise size is quite big. Normally I raise between 2. and 2.5x the bet. Betting more risks getting you value owned. You got an unlucky river card, but this is not a bad beat. Your desicions preflop and postflop are very high risk. You risked your entire stack on a marginal starting hand, flopped middle pair on the assumution that the villain was bluffing. I think you will show a more stable profit by sticking to value betting at 2NL. GL and have fun at the tables! Roland GTX
