  • QQ in BB vs UTG+1 raiser 5NL

Okay, fancied trying out the boom replayer thing, so thought I would post a nice easy hand.

Dealt QQ in BB, squeeze over a raise and call, and UTG+1 calls. No particular reads on anyone as I am new to the player pool and this was about 6 hands into the session.

I think flop and turn bets are standard. Maybe the sizing on the turn was too small admittedly. On the river, I am beating 88 and JJ of the pairs I thing could reasonable be calling and getting to the river. I am beat by 99/TT and slowplayed AA/KK which I find unlikely, but, I've seen some strange things the last day or two. May have been hallucinating though.

The river bet, I dont want to risk him checking behind if he has a hand I beat, at the same time, there are a lot of two pair/set/straight possibilities there too.

    Optimal line for river?

    Value, value, value!

Sometimes he'll have a set, occasionally he'll have KK but we are going to have the best hand so often that value betting all three streets is absolutely the correct way to play.

      Pretty standard shove.

        Hi bhoy,

I think you played it well. The only busted draw that might bluff the river if we check is QJ, but we block that... it's much more likely he's getting sticky with JJ, AT, JT, A9 or smaller pairs, and will simply check behind on the river with those, so I like going for the 3rd street of value here, even though it seems to thin against a strong player... readless at 5NL best guess is he's not folding hands like top pair.
