  • 2NL 6-Max Zoom - what to do with QQ postflop

    Hello all, So I recently had this hand in zoom 2nl 6 Max. With QQ I decided to 3 bet as I would prefer to a) build a big pot and b) hopefully get it to headsup, or just take it down preflop. So I get two callers which surprised me and then I get the flop as indicated. And after they checked to me I decided to make a large bet and took it down. But then I got to thinking about that hand. What would I have done if they had called or shoved. What happens if I didn't get a queen in later streets. And it was because of these questions I decided to post this hand. I just didn't really think it through very much (my weakness) So my main questions are what would you have done postflop? And if you did get called and didnt hit a Q on the turn, what next? I am really just not sure about this one. Thanks!!! Ladywolf

    3b bigger pre.

    Cbetting the flop has a few advantages;

    - We define our villain's range because the board is so dry
    - Our range does not look face up***

    However, it's unlikely that we will get called by worse (all pairs < K). Against 2nl players i'd check back 3 way and if it checks around OTT start betting for value.

    ***this isn't a huge concern at 2nl

      I think your continuation bet can be called by plenty of worse hands, namely worse pocket pairs, esp JJ, TT, 99. For that reason I like betting and I don't think you bet particularly large. One thing at 2nl is you will run into more KJ/KQ/AK than at other stakes, but after making this bet I would check the turn with intentions of showing down your hand. Maybe if the river is a king or 3 you could certainly put in another value bet, but on other cards it will be less easy. If you face a lot of resistance on this board in this hand you should throw your QQ away umbup:
