  • 25nl zoom AK 4bet pot, missed what do i do IP

    Is not very often that somebody flats a 4bet OOP 100bb deep, I've seen a few times they do it with AA, sometimes with QJs and similar and medium pairs, when i see it I take a note, but you know its zoom. Feel kind of weak not to cbet because then they just can bet most turns and I have to fold. Without any reads what would be the best option on this hand? Decided to check because having the BDFD and two overs. PokerStars Zoom No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com Hero (Button) ($25.25) SB ($29.96) BB ($28.51) UTG ($75.86) MP ($20.66) CO ($24.04) Preflop: Hero is Button with K, A 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.62, SB raises to $2, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, SB calls $3 Flop: ($10.25) 4, 6, 9 (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks Turn: ($10.25) 3 (2 players) SB bets $5.10, Hero calls $5.10 River: ($20.45) J (2 players) SB bets $19.86 (All-In), Hero folds Total pot: $20.45 | Rake: $0.92 Results below:

    I cbet this flop and turn, It might be my leak but I don't see any reason in 4 betting PF other way.
    This is how I see his hand range.

    Board: 4h 6s 9d 3d
    Dead:

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 32.955% 32.95% 00.00% 261 0.00 { AdKd }
    Hand 1: 67.045% 67.05% 00.00% 531 0.00 { QQ-TT }

    As raising OTT wouldn't make a sense or would make my hand more face up , because I checked IP OTF, I prefer fold than calling. And I think you don't have needed implied odds for the river with D or A ,K too. river is clear fold.

      We 4bet preflop because, when he folds + he shoves and we are flipping + we suckout on KK or AA + he shoves some crappy hand and we are ahead= +ev, but once we see flop and missed our equity drops.

        I am definitely cbetting flop, so that we don't make a mistake by folding the best hand on later streets.
        As played I think we can shove turn and put villain on a tough spot.

          You mean reraising? What hands that we are behind you put on a tough spot?

            Any pair that didn't made a set besides maybe QQ, which I think villain will snap call the shove.
            We could have easily played KK, AA this way, so we can mix it up by raising turn both as a semi-bluff or for value if villain was getting out of line.

              Hi Carlos,

              With our preflop action we have represented a premium pair, so I think it's important to c-bet this flop when checked to. It puts a lot of pressure on pocket pairs that didn't hit a set, and other AK's that prefer to hit the flop before stacking off to stacking off pre. Plus we have quite a few good turn cards to shove if we get called again.

              As played, I prefer shoving the turn to calling... it sort of mimics AA that slowplayed the flop trying to let him hit a pair. So we have some decent fold equity and when called, anywhere from 7-15 outs to suck out on the river. When we just call the turn, after checking behind on the flop, our hand is totally face up imo... allowing him to play the river perfectly. I prefer to give him chances to make mistakes and we're not really doing that with this line.

                Thanks Dave!

                On a blank (no A K or diamond) turn do we shove or give up? Would a Q be good to barrel?

                  I would barrel J, Q, K, A, or diamond. We might also consider checking an A or K as that is very likely to give us the best hand, a free card is not too concerning if he takes one, and it may encourage him to turn worse pairs and floats into a bluff to try and scare us off a hand like JJ.
