  • 5NL 6max - It's no read from the UTG 4x open

A test, You are the UTG 4x open, and I have no reads. And Please press pause on my turn bet. (I can't do a no result HH replay) So if you did press pause? What do you think I am doing and you can see my cards... and you know your own cards as the UTG raiser? What do you think guys think? Two thinking betting lines or two fish not sure? . . . OK a very embarrassing donk bet from me (considering my public opinion on that) but then a confused river decision.

I think that either check-raising this flop or donk-leading are both fine. I'd probably lean towards check-raising against a fishier player and just try to get the money in with a ton of equity now but as I mentioned, I think donking is good too.

If I were the villian, I'd expect that you'd probably have a draw most of the time when you donk the flop but without knowing your tendencies I'd consider your range to include 1-pair type hands as well. It's unlikely you'd be donking 2-pair or better but also not impossible...

I'd be putting the villain on a range of something like 77+,Tx,Jx,AQ,AK,KQ,flush draws,89 etc...after calling your donk. I think it's a huge mistake on the villain's part not to raise with JT here since as I said earlier I think you have lots of draws/semi-bluffs in your donking range. It looks like they were going for the old trap but it backfired.
