  • 25 NL FR: 4-bet squeeze

Here is another 25NL FR Zoom hand.

Rather than play this hand oop, I opted for a 4-bet squeeze. I don't think I have made this move before. The 3-bettor was an unknown (1 hand on him). The caller was 23/11/3 over 30 hands.

What would you suggest as a standard bet size here?

Any other thoughts on this line are welcome.

    Hi Greg,

4b sizing is really big, I'm generally going to about 6.25 here with the flat caller... it leaves no room for you to be making a move light to squeeze, it's clear you have a real (stack off pre) hand, and it also looks like you don't really mind no action (AK).

Post flop I would always jam this flop. Villain has about a pot sized bet left, and his range to double flat preflop is probably heavy in AK/AQ and mid pocket pairs. When you check this flop it just looks even more like AK, so you're more likely to get hero'd by 88 now if blanks come off. Your preflop line reps a premium pair, so play it like one and get 88 to fold (and have decent equity if he puts you on AK and makes the call anyway).
