  • Request HA - 5-10c 6 seater nlhe

Hi , the table was a sandard type TAG game, I for some reason put the villain on AK,after witnessing an earlier play.

Was it the correct decission to call the all in?

If I did the same decission 100 times that would be +EV?

It is close since he sometimes might do that with aces or kings.
But if you are certain that his range consists of AK and only AK calling is always +EV.

Ty, so my mindset should be that I made the right decission regardless of outcome?

and in the long term this decission would be profitable?

        Hi holdemace,

The profitability of our decision depends solely on Villain. Do you have any information on him? Stats? Reads?
What do you think someone would shove vs an UTG short stack?

          Hi ace,

Like geo said, it depends on the villain and reads, but generally speaking when someone puts a short stacker all in like this we're going to see medium to medium big pairs and AK/AQ a lot (they would not generally shove AA or KK as they want you to continue. Absent any other reads, TT should play well enough against his range to stack off here.

If I give him 88-QQ, AJs+, AQo+ we are 53.5% with a slight overlay from the pot. Even if you add all combos of AA and KK into his range we're still only 48%, and again I doubt he does this 100% of the time with AA and KK.

When you're playing short, you should be looking to get these spots in to leverage small preflop edges. Unless you have a strong read or reason to believe he's got a big pair only here, then get it in and realize the edge this spot creates for you.
