  • Practically no money in 6max+ Hypers?

I am under the impression that there is very little opportunity for profit under these formats. This is because so much of the game is preflop, and pots on the flop are an average of a few times more than pots on the flop for 1vs1 hypers, which have similar rake.

Bernardc only made 2% roi on 6max hypers at the higher stakes, and he makes 6 times more money (not ROI) per game on 1vs1 hypers. Granted he is a heads up hyper specialist.

The 1vs1 hypers also have the bonus of no collusion possibility, faster time to finish games so edges multiply faster over time, less variance (correct me if I am wrong), and more opportunity to gain full tilt bonuses through rake generation.

In conclusion I am skeptical about 6max hypers and I don't see why players who want to maximize profit would play them over 1vs1 hypers. I feel that pokerstars should increase the stack sizes for six max hypers to 600-750.. especially because the pots are simply so much bigger postflop in 6max compared to 1vs1.

Like any game type available to play I believe it's just a question of finding the correct strategy. I myself do dabble in playing these and while I find it high varience I have had limited success. One of our members, fifithecat, is currently running a challenge to try and work his way up the stakes playing this game type. He has a thread that you can find here that you might find interesting.

Also if you're interested in learning more on strategy for hyper-turbo, although from your hyper HU background you may know a fair bit of it, there are some videos by Spacegravy I found really helpful. You can find those here.

There is a definite solved strategy that most of the high stakes pros are adopting that's break even but winning via rakeback. When you think that Supernova Elite is worth $100k you can understand why they play them. Multi tablers play them to win via VPPs, not for a high ROI.

The 6 MAX Hypers are a great game to learn , as there are alot of edges to gain over your other players. Alot of the great Hyper grinders have a smaller ROI but they can make more per hour as they can put in a amazing amount of volume. Remember the player who has by far the most FPPs is a 6 MAX Hyper grinder, who i was railing last night and the amount of $ he makes is amazing , and his game is basically unexploitable it was really amazing to watch him playing upto 24 tables then going over the hands after and realising he seemed to have the perfect game ! !

All bow to George Lind III he has a fantastic game..
