  • 5NL 6max Zoom, 3b pot deep against a check raise OTF

Hello, it's me again The villain is an unknown playing 4 tables The flop is obviously great for our hand, we have TPTK and NFD and are facing a reasonable sized check raise. Do not really see any reason to fold our hand so my question is: Do we try to 3bet or do we call and see what develops on later streets? Also if we 3bet can we ever fold to a shove? In a normal situation 100BB deep I would almost always 3bet and get it in (maybe even 3b shove) but I do not know how the situation changes when we are almost 220BB deep? Any advice would be highly appreciated umbup: Tommy

    Hi Tommy,

I don't think we are ever getting it in good on the flop this deep stacked, we will basically always have to beat AT, a set, or a flush. Obviously we always have equity with the nut flush draw, but that's not a reason to 3b/stack it off bad.

I think it's superior to call his check-raise. This improves the equity of our situation by not allowing him to fold worse aces like AQ or AJ (which I suspect he will do often if we 3b the flop), and by allowing him to bluff more the times he's just making a move with something like 88. About the best we can hope for stacking the flop is AxQs, but it doesn't matter in that case as if we just call he's putting in $ on the turn and river with that holding anyway.
