  • folded AA on the river.

not sure about this hand, i was either going to call pre-flop or raise $0.08 but i accidentally raised $0.06. that aside the re-raise on the turn is my main focus for this hand. i new when he called i was beat, but i actually felt like i was beat when he made the small raise before i re-raised. although i did put him on a flush, not quads...

IMO it is a pretty disciplined fold considering he was short stacked. The river bet screams value though!

    Cheers,

      Hi Rock,

I have trouble reading textual hand histories. Please use the hand replayer at http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/replayer to give us a visual version to analyse.

Villain's limp-call is consistent with a speculative hand like a suited connector or small pair. I think there's 15c in the pot on the 533 flop. I'd bet 10 or 12c here, because you can get calls from all the overpairs from 66-KK, as well as flush draws.
The turn makes a flush possible and also puts out a third wheel card. Villain donks out small. I'd be very worried he either has us beat with a flush/straight, flopped trips with A3s, or has a boat/quads. Since we have the As, we can call and see if we make the flush. (Villains sometimes donk small with monsters, because they expect you to raise, enabling them to shove). Raising is unlikely to get value from many worse hands, although I guess hands like 66-KK would bet-call here with the flush draw.

On the river, villain shoves 65c into 51c. This is almost certainly a value bet. River leads usually mean villain has the (near) nuts. 88 just made a boat, and the flush was already made on the turn. I think you made a good fold here, as I don't think this villain would be shoving a one pair hand on such a scary board when he's been raised on two earlier streets.
