  • 10nl 6max, ATo in a 4bet pot

villain is a multitabler reg with stats of VPIP/PFR 26/24 3bet 10 i open from the CO with ATo and got 3bet by villain. since i've been stealing quite a bit and villain's 3bet is somewhat high, i assumed that he is probably restealing and decided to 4bet my blockers. villain, unfortunately, calls. im thinking that im definetely beat, but if he had flatted with AK or even TT, i could make him fold to a bet. was i too optimistic? should i have just given up or check back, see the turn and then bet if he checked again?

Using ATo for a well-timed 4bet bluff is definitely an option if you feel villain goes out of line with light 3betting here too much. I would however 4bet way smaller since you are in position. You risk less for your bluff to work and you also have more room postflop to put out a much smaller cbet if you want to.
