if he had bet the river what would e best move call/fold

  • #2
    Hi,

I think on the river we would check-call since the board is very wet and all draws missed except for specifically 87.

I don't think we should be pressing A2o out of position though generally, even against very loose players this is very hard to play for +EV bets on all post flop streets.

Personally, I would have flat in pre-flop but the min-raise did make the BB fold which narrowed you to only 1 opponent so I'm mixed a bit. I tend to keep all my open raises the same bet no matter the hand I'm playing so the min raise would not have been but that could be stylistic differences and A2o is not in my range for that open raise which is why I would have completed the blind here. Calling any bets to you would have been a no for me as well. We missed the flop and A2 is not strong enough for showdown in most cases so any bet would have been a fold for me but going from how you played the hand so far I would say a good flop bet or c-bet was called for from you and if raised - fold. Either way it was a weak hand and should not be invested in. Our opponents range is dependent on reads/stats and if he is playing loose then 9To, 9Js, JQ, QK is in his range as well as any stronger A which has us beat. evil:
