Hi birdayy, I would always call here. There's just so few 6's in his range, it seems unlikely that he'd get to the river with 66 or A6 unless he specifically held the 6c or Ac maybe. Even better though I think we should be betting again on the river for value. He's the preflop raiser and has called us twice, this is consistent with how strong 1 pair hands might respond to our actions. I think we are more likely to get value from strong 1 pair hands by betting again than by check/calling, as they may opt to check it down on this board texture more often than they'd call a bet by us. If we know the villain is a thin value better but will fold a lot to 3 barrels, then check/calling becomes by far the preferred option, but having no reads I lean towards betting again. Also towards making a note that this guy is either a really thin value bettor and/or doesn't understand hand values because he bet A8 and it's pretty hard to see how A8 is getting called by too many worse hands on this scary board texture. Maybe you're check-calling him with 98 or T8 (those should probably check-fold tbh), but I think he's beat more often than not when he gets called here, so from his perspective this bet is a bit too thin imo. Commendable that you are reviewing your play from a month ago... keep up the good work! umbup:
