Horrible. No other words can describe it. You min raise from UTG and min bet post and played a calling station to everyone's raise. With the flop of 9TK there are too many hands that have you beat here especially considering the pre-raises. If you could have kept it cheap continuing wouldn't have been so bad if you could suck out a boat but it wasn't cheap and you kept calling. What did you think your opponents had? As I watched the hand play I kept thinking AQo, JQs or a pocket pair hitting set on flop or turn. Without any stats or reads from you about these players it's hard to give any real advice here. (at least for me) It is possible from previous plays you could have been correct to be in this hand though I would still say it was poorly played. evil:

      Hi quirked,

Preflop is a tad ambitious, yes, although it's not bad in a 5 handed game if you have reads on the opponents and can thus make good post flop decisions against them.

On the flop I think we are ahead more often than not, but when V6 raises your bet and V3 check-cold calls 2 bets, I am generally going to slow down. There's no real draws here except gut shots, but we can't rule out 99+, AK-KJ (although we're ahead of KQ and KJ that holding as a fair bit of equity against us on the flop). If the turn is a safe card we can continue, but probably just check-fold any A, K, Q, or J turn card. So as played I don't really like the turn bet and and when it comes back to us at 3 bets this is definitely a fold at this point, there's pretty much no chance our hand is still good and our "outs" (to a full house) are all tainted in some way as opponents can hold some of these outs or even hold a hand like KK or JJ against which we're drawing dead.

          Hi Dave.
Thanks again, another example of what happens when im not activly ranging opponents on all streets. when it came back to me on the turn was only thinking ... well i got 4 outs to beat the straight call!!! never considering the "tainted" scenerio.
