  • ZOOM Tip - Sitting Out

After playing any hand that goes to a showdown, I "Sit out" briefly on all my tables. This allows me to get a look at the villain's hand, review how it was played, and make a note on him/her.

The showdown is a huge source of information that you don't want to miss out on, but things happen pretty fast in Zoom, especially if you are multitabling. Usually another table or hand pops up before you even get to see the result of a showdown. Sitting out counteracts this problem.

There is a little green "play" arrow in the top middle portion of the table window. You can use this to sit out all your tables at once and afterward to rejoin them.

You can then use the hand replayer (found in the top left of the window) to see what the villain had in the showdown hand. This works even if their cards got mucked. Furthermore, from the hand replayer, you can still make notes on players, even though they have moved on to another table.

Take advantage of readily available information! Winning players do...

GL and have fun at the tables!

    Good tip.

If you use a stat tracker, this can be done regularly after your session. It's simple to sort through the session hands for any hand that went to showdown, or you can filter for this and look at them. You'll find most hands you weren't even at the table for as you fast folded, but can review after the fact in your replayer for reads and info, which you can add to your player notes directly in your HUD. Personally I think this is easier and more efficient, but you have to be running a tracker to do this obviously, if you don't then I like your method for grabbing notes in the client. Any information gathering is better than none.

If I see a hand that looks interesting, what I'll do instead of sitting out, is that instead of sitting out, I'll hit to fold and watch the rest of the hand play out. That way I can get my notes.

At least that's how I've been going about it in the very limited number of times I've played ZOOM.

I do that all the time I have 4 Zoom tables open most of the time and when I want to see how a hand turned out, I'll hit replay and put it aside and write notes while I play. It might take me a while to write the note as I'm still playing the 4 tables...LOL Doesn't have to be a showdown hand, for example, 2 players go all in, I fold, I'm still interested in the outcome, so I still need to take notes. After my session, I go in PT4 and review the hands and if necessary, I'll post more notes. Since I don't use any HUD, these notes are very important Good post Roland umbup:

          Trap,

I keep the replay window handy too. I want to see whatever is being showndown for notes.
