Hi, the villain is a kinda LAG player. He's playing a quarter of the hands dealt and raising half of them. On the flop and turn I thought he had overcards (QJ KJ). But the river bet was really weird, although I've seen he be very aggressive before. Thanks umbup:

    Hi,

Not sure I agree with the assessment of "kinda LAG", if he's playing 25/12 that's not LAG, that's more normal/weak.

I would probably call here as his bet makes no sense. I definitely do not think he has a jack very often, it's pretty hard to believe he would check-call with KJ or QJ high for 2 streets... fish like to peel one on the flop with overs but usually are folding to the turn bet unless they're pretty crazy loose, which 25/12 is not. So that somewhat limits his J range to a flop check-call peel with specifically 2 spades that continued with the flush draw, and paired the J on the river, AND decided to lead instead of check-call. I think when he calls twice he's either slow playing a 7 on the turn or he's got a smaller pocket pair a lot. Also sometimes a player may have an ace high here and then bet figuring (in their "logic") that they're chopping anyway with your AK so maybe you'll fold if they bet now. Also sometimes players like this will take this line with the pocket pairs, once no ace or king comes, they think you'll just check down ace high but pay off their 88 if they bet since you have 2 pair with an ace.

So on balance I think we're good often enough to make this call, and if we end up not being good, at least we get valueable information about what he plays in this manner so we'll have a good read (a loss isn't a total loss).
