  • 2nl FR 3-betting with JJ picking up two more callers

I think I played this hand relatively well, just want to make sure I am not overlooking anything. Hopefully I'll manage a post without errors this time . I would categorize Villain 5 as LAGgish, but not overly aggressive. Villain 1 and 9 were more on the loose passive side of things. My own image should be relatively tight at this point. Leaving the result in, since my question pretty much gives it away. I decide to 3-bet the min-raise since the villain is opening a pretty wide range that way. I probably could have made it slightly larger without scaring him off. I didn't expect to pick up two more callers, even though these guys were pretty loose. The flop is pretty dry, except for one possible open-ended straight-draw and it checks to me, so I decide to make a rather small c-bet. This will probably get most overcards and small pocket pairs which missed the flop to fold. Still, I don't want to keep playing a 4-way pot and turning Q+. I will probably keep the straight-draw, any T, maybe a 7 and one of these guys could even pay for a 45/56 gutshot or two overcards. They all fold and I am asking myself: Is there a good way I could have gotten more value? Not that I am unhappy with the actual result.

      Hi Garrns,

I think it's fine. I like 3-betting the loose opener. I would also c-bet in a 4 way pot here to protect my equity, I don't want to give a free card off with 3 opponents. The tough question comes if we get raised, and I think without reads it's a fold. On a ten high dry board I would expect a raiser to have an overpair or set virtually all the time. If we had reads and they were a spewer, then maybe we can factor in some Tx hands like AT etc, but the cold callers won't often do this with Tx but will do it with pocket pairs trying to hit a set on us. So bet/fold the flop here is my preference.

        Thanks Dave.

Concerning the raise: Villain 5 I would probably have called down depending on raise sizing, since I would easily put a ten in his range there. Against the two passive guys it would have been a relatively easy fold.
