  • 5NL Zoom AK river value spot

Villan 21/19/2 46 hands When I play this hand i wanted to shove the river but i think he would fold worse. Then i thought he double barrel so he must have a strong hand, the shove made him fold worse. So I went for thin value but looking back this thin value bet looks kind of like a blocker bet like I am playing cheaply for my weaker flush so he would only raise with the nut flush which i have or maybe I am just over thinking this all ?

With less than a pot sized raise in chips, I would be shoving this river. I think you will get called by worse flushes, sets and possibly some 2 pair hands that don't want to believe you have the flush. IMO, when you get the nuts you should always try to extract the most possible chips.

      Hi

I think you played this hand great. Preflop is definitely not a 4-bet so it is between calling and folding and it is actually close. As it stands check-call, check-call, lead river was the best possible line to take postflop.

I like shoving the river. 1) We have the nuts 2) Villain is going to check-back river a lot with hands he can potentially call our shove, either out of frustration or because he thinks they are too good to fold. I am thinking specifically of QQ, AQ type hands without a spade. 3) If villain has the Qs or Ts in his hand he is unlikely to fold no matter what bet size we choose.

A lot of your money at this stake comes from making big hands, making big bets with your big hands, and getting paid big money! So I would definitely elect to shove all-in on the river and put our opponent to the test .
