  • 5nl 6max, q10off against loose passive

First off i know I should have folded the river I know there is no chance i was ahead but frustration got the better of me after an annoying day at the tables and i made a real bad call. The opponent was a 75/5, loved limping in and calling a raise with all sorts of trash, any suited, any ace and picture card you get the idea. He also liked calling down with plenty of poor hands middle pair top pair no kicker rarely being aggressive and when he was aggressive he had at least top pair or better. Any way, are my lines in this pot ok here? I raise to iso and for value giving his limping range preflop. Bet the flop, turn and river all for value roughly 2/3rds pot sizing expecting him to call with any 10, smaller pocket pairs etc, occasionally he shows me a better ten but that's the way it goes. Should i size my bets smaller maybe check a street as my kicker is solid but not great, Thanks for your feedback

    Hi darkmajik,

I think your line is absolutely fine. There's a lot of value to be gained from this type of player since he is most likely to be calling down on Tx with worse kickers as well as small pairs and draws. He is also the one who will have a lot of those crappy preflop hands in his range, that's why isolating him even with QTo should be +EV here.

I think I would bet just a tad bigger OTF and OTT to shove river for value.

If the guy is aggressive you could also try and induce a bluff by checking or betting really small.

Your betsize makes it hard to get away from the hand even though it seems likely he has us beat most of the time. I still think the odds are way to good to be folding against this type of player though.
