I own up that I was never expecting to be a fan of ZOOM - I am too old, too slow and too sceptical to jump straight in for something designed to be new, fast and exciting, but I had to give it a try.

So this weekend I lost my biggest ever single hand at a pokerstars cash game on ZOOM - I think it was $12.83 on one hand.

(Still nowhere near my record of around $90 on another site when I was young and naive. Well OK - Slightly less old and naive)

This should not be possible - and was only possible in this instance because I had done insanely well to build my stack that high and then flopped top two pairs with KJs to get beat by a nut straight.

No complaints on the hand I lost - but very surprised how easily I built that stack before I spewed it off again - I am almost won over to ZOOM as a viable game for me to play.

So tonight - I found a new unexpected aspect - ZOOM chat.

You cannot really carry on a conversation in chat at ZOOM tables - you also can't berate people who have bad beat you - which is a good thing - but if someone tanks mid-hand the way my opponent did tonight I felt it was only right to try to engage in some banter. (Again this is not like me - I am usually mute at tables)

Are you looking for the Ace of Spades? I asked politely, as the opp time banked and thought about the the fourth spade that came on the turn. They bet and I raised, they tanked a bit more.

'I'm sure it is around here somewhere' I added.

Now I am not clear if I was breaking any rules here, if so I apologise - but I was giving a strong hint that possibly I knew where said ace of spades was.

They folded and we got whizzed off to a new hand on the 500 seat single table that is McNaught ( - which ironically is Scottish for 'YOU WON NOTHING' - )

So essentially the jury is still out on ZOOM.

    And I need my medication.

    4 Time Bracelet Winner
