Hi Pokerpants! Welcome to the hand analysis forum! Pre flop at a 6 handed table, KT on the BTN is an ok hand to raise, but it is also one that can present some sticky decisions versus some player types While a donk lead can be a weak hand like a draw or 2nd/3rd pair, a STRONG donk lead without info may well be a hand that is strong. The villain bet pot on the flop, so that is often a pretty strong indicator he may NOT be on a draw... As such, given the stack to pot ratio going to the flop (just under 10), I'd personally not favor playing top pair this strongly without more info on the opp. I am not saying I'd fold top pair/K kicker, but I am saying I'd prefer to flat and re-assess on the turn. You can easily be facing a hand like a flopped set or a flopped 2 pair and be well behind, or a gut shot plus flush draw (54s/34s/78s/98s) and be coin flipping. Without more info on the opp I'd really be reluctant to get all my chips in on this flop with this depth of money. Without info on the opp, it is really hard to know where you stand with a hand liek this one, so taking a bit more care until you have info that will help guide you can certainly help your overall bottom line. Some good videoes that might help you avoid tricky spots like this on the flop are: http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...-Ratios-Part-1 http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...-Ratios-Part-2 http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...ment-Decisions Hope it helps! -JDean
