  • I just don't get the hands against the donks!

Another disappointing session.. Limit 2c4c Was being dealt junk mostly for the session. Villain here a complete fish.. 90% vpip and would call down to the river almost all the time.. trouble is every pot I get involved in with him I seem to be out of position and miss the flop completely, then he comes out betting, or something like this happens.. Oh.. he almost never raised pre flop before this.. hence my caution after he raised my bet on the flop. Nothing funny going on.. Other players were taking him to the cleaners, and he lost over 30BB while I was sat at the table, but I never got the cards against him.. Frustrating.

you'll see alot of this type of player, especially at this level, as people will call down with anything... they're calling stations.

when you get a hand against one, value bet them to death. They will get lucky and hit a hand every so often and when they do, just try to lose the minimum... which you did in this hand.

Take a look at this video made by The Langolier. It will apply to both limit and NL with the types of opponents.

imo position is key in Limit, far more than NL, bet when you hit a hand and call when you're drawing.

I'm re-re raising top pair on that flop and not checking him down. If you say he's a calling station, just raise him until he re-raises from the turn onwards. Use the flop to see where you stand in the hand. The chips you lose on this hand will be more than made up for in other hands.
