  • QQ on preflop while on the bubble

Okay so I'm trying to figure out if I made the right play in a particular situation.

It was a 12 person SnG and we were down to 4 people.

As per protocal, played super tight at the begining and played pretty smart in the middle with the hands I was dealt (was very dead carded in the middle) all the way to the bubble. This left me short stacked with about 1500, The other 3 players all had pretty close chip stacks with about 5000 and change.

So, being short stacked I'm on the cut off and dealt QQ so I go all in with the with being under 10 BB's (BB's were 150). I get called by the the big blind who has A of spades and 7 off suite. He ends up beating me as 4 spades are delt giving him a flush (I ended up wilth one as well but only to the Q).

Was this the right all in/push? Or was I wrong going against and 3 bigger stacks they had me covered pretty good?

thats a premium hand if ur very short stacked, a push was deffinately the right move, you were just unlucky umbup: Dont give up, as long as u make +ev moves the money will come rolling to you in the long run

      Thanks Tiber,

Wasn't sure if I should have just folded or maybe called, going up against 3 bigger stacks hoping one will take a bad beat a few rounds later making his/her stack closer to mine. Then have a more even fight against a closer stack and try and sneak into the money.

Anything but going all in would be a serious mistake. Just run better.

            +1 again.

You gotta love getting the 70% shot at a double up when you are covered heavy by all your opponents in a bubble spot. You probably need chips to get ITM.

Even if your opponents are still "active", unless one of 'em catches another with a real "cooler" hand, chances are good they will not play big enough pots against each other to let you ladder climb to the money. Even if they ARE banging each other loosely, and that means you MIGHT ladder climb to a min cash, the real money in a single table SNG is in winning, and you are still going to need chips to have a good shot at doing that.

So you are doing what you did every time, bar none, no hesitation.

                +1 Part III

Shove those Q's every time and twice on Sundays. ANY hand that you're opening a pot with in this spot has to be a shove. The only question is what hands exactly that you should be willing to get in with, not whether you get it in. That's automatic.

If you don't shove here you should probably just quit poker.
