  • JJ?

    Hi gang

Whats your opinion on JJ in late position ?

Yesterday had it in the CO everybody folds around to me
I make a big bet only the BB calls
Flop comes T64 all different suits so I ship he calls and flips over 64os lol
Today same thing folds round to me on the button I make a 6xbb only the BB calls
Flop comes T98 so I ship it after he checked and shows pocket 9's
    Lost both times lol

But on a lighter note watch this , WARNING 18+ , BAD LANGUAGE

the pocket 9's, I understand... 46o to a raise (I hope you raised to at least 3BB) is NOT a good call.

JJ is always scary. I may be a little more timid than you and not risk my entire stack on JJ.

Had JJ in a B&M yesterday in late position. Game was FL, filled with bingo players - could not push them off their 52o pre-flop monster hands. lol Flop and Turn left me with top pair and nothing to be concerned about. River makes my set and I bet. Get raised. Guy turns over 5, 8 off-suit to make a straight with the 6, 7, 9 on the board. Didn't see it.

Another Stars player was sitting beside me a the table. We were both getting clobbered by the bingo players. Neither of us could catch the cards needed to take down the big pots these donks were building with their ATC strategy.

            Herk

JJ? Not a bad hand to have. umbup: Similar situation to what you described, held JJ's raised, got called. flop T 3 6 rainbow (board looked safe for JJ's) I raised, got re-raised, third person called, I fired pot size bet, third person is all-in, looked at board, decided to fold since thought two pair. Sure enough guy turns over T6o phewwww close one.

JJ in late is a play in my book. You've had a bad run, and in fact so have I similar to you.

                    That video is classic.

especially if the blinds are tight.

                        JJ?

Jacks are a difficult hand to play, maybe this will help............http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP9CBtSW0kA

Couldn't decide if this post belonged here or in Bad Beats so I flipped a coin.

I'd prefer it vs. loose blinds tbh.

Yeah, that video is a classic...but he does make some pretty bad plays. For example, raising the turn lead with JJ on 23KQ because he thinks the villain is bluffing....and then folding to the shove. Just call, keep the bluffs in his range. Or if his range is still super bluffy when he shoves, prepare to call.
