  • Questionable shove

This hand happened at almost 4:00am my time, way past my normal bedtime. With no preflop raise, I was ranging my opponents pretty wide. Button was a very aggressive player, who would not hesitate to rep big hands he didn't have, while UTG had been fairly tight.

When UTG raised, I almost folded, but just couldn't fold the nut flush draw with two card to come. Shoul I have waited for a better spot??

You are on pretty deep money here for a final table, holding 220k to start with blinds at 4k/8k (27.5BB)

There is generally too much chance of moving up 1 or even 2 spots, to make your "stand" on any kind of draw when you are CALLING. There is more reason to do so if you are the one shoving, but to call...yuck.

Since you only had 6BB + 1BB (posted) in the pot when he jammed, and since the shorter stack had called (and might bust), OR the shover might get crippled, you pretty much should dump this and move on with your 20.5BB left. Chances are you'll be in 3rd place guarenteed, or versus such a new short stack that 3rd place is almost a lock...see?

Oh gawdd i was hoping to see you 4 bet shove that flop with your good draw yet you elect to call and lose all your equity in the hand when villain shoves over the top :/

And i would probably also like check raising that flop alot more than donking it.......... but when you do donk bet that flop and have the opportunity to 4 bet shove it........ DO IT!! you can rep very well and fold out several Q's n made hands in villains range there.........more importantly isolate the 131,000 chips of dead money.........i would assume given no raise preflop it would be hard for villain to have any decent Q's in their range.......your obivously still going to get it in vs sets, 2 pairs and pair combo draws......

CALLING off a nut flush draw even 3-1 on a FT is probably marginal if not less then marginal i thnk...i think off the top of my head yoiur equity is about 20%ish give or take....

      stay aggresive and goodluck
