  • AK against UTG aggression

    http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/rep...ash=818BE8EEAB

I'm becoming concerned about my AK play , Tell me what you think of this play against a player I had no read on and , tell me if I might play it differently should his stack have had me covered ?

you can really raise or call preflop. Either way, with the K high board on the flop, the chips are going in anyway..... unfortuantely, you just ran into a monster.

This is difficult against an unknown. Many only 4-bet KK+ and that range is crushing you. You're pretty close against QQ+, but you need villains range to be something like JJ+ or QQ+,AK for the final call to be good.

Many short-stackers love to get their chips all in (I guess that's why they're short-stackers), so I guess the call could be okay. I think, I prefer flatting pre-flop to avoid this kind of decision, though.
